A official stated that Israel will soon slow down or stop the delivery of humanitarian aid to parts of northern Gaza, while expanding its military offensive.
This decision is likely to lead to further condemnation of the Israeli government as frustration grows both domestically and internationally over the horrific conditions faced by Palestinians in Gaza.
The official said that Israel will halt air drop operations over the city of Gaza in the coming days and will reduce the access of aid trucks to the northern part of the territory.
Israel has ended daytime ceasefires in fighting to allow for aid delivery, describing the city of Gaza as a stronghold of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas).
The United Nations stated that the ceasefires and air drops were insufficient compared to the 600 trucks of aid needed daily.
The Israeli army has increased its strikes on the suburbs of the city of Gaza, as food security experts declared famine in the region.
Mirjana Spoljaric, President of the International Committee of the Red Cross, stated that the mass evacuation of the city of Gaza would be impossible in a safe and dignified manner.
Such an evacuation would lead to a massive population movement that no area in the Gaza Strip could accommodate.
