The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) stated that 660,000 children in the Gaza Strip are out of school for the third consecutive year due to the ongoing genocide for the past 23 months.
UNRWA added in a statement, "The war in Gaza is a war on children and it must stop. Children must be protected at all times." It affirmed the right of children to learn, explaining that "660,000 children are out of school for the third consecutive year due to the war."
The agency continued: "In Gaza, children are at risk of becoming a lost generation." It called for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, allowing children to return to their schools and lives.
