Hebrew Channel: Netanyahu will discuss the idea of separating Hebron from the Palestinian Authority.

An Israeli channel revealed today, Friday, that the Prime Minister of the occupation, Benjamin Netanyahu, will discuss the idea of separating the city of Hebron in the southern West Bank from the area of influence of the Palestinian National Authority. This discussion comes amid the intention of several Western countries to recognize the State of Palestine, reflecting the occupation's concern over these international moves.

According to the channel, Netanyahu is expected to hold an initial discussion regarding the initiative of Minister of Economy Nir Barkat to separate Hebron from the Palestinian Authority. Two other ministers, Israel Katz (Defense) and Nir Barkat, will participate in the discussion, along with senior officials from the security apparatus.

During the meeting, the possibility of replacing the leaders of the Authority in the area with local clans will be discussed, which could lead to the establishment of a separate emirate in Hebron. It is believed that this new entity would recognize the occupying state as a Jewish state and join normalization agreements with Arab countries.

Netanyahu has not officially commented on this report, but the Israeli channel indicated that the General Security Service (Shabak) expressed its opposition to the step, noting that the Palestinian Authority is a vital party in combating armed activities.

If this plan is implemented, it could undermine the idea of establishing a Palestinian state under the control of the Authority, which is considered a serious threat to Palestinian rights.

Many Western countries, including France and Britain, have announced their intention to recognize the Palestinian state during the upcoming United Nations General Assembly meetings in September. This recognition could strengthen the Palestinians' position on the international stage.

In a related context, the Palestinian clans of Hebron disavowed a proposal to establish a 'clan emirate' in the governorate, reaffirming their commitment to Palestinian constants. The representative of the Hebron clans, Nafez al-Jabari, announced his rejection of what was included in a report by the 'Wall Street Journal' regarding the recognition of Israel as a Jewish state.

Al-Jabari emphasized that the Palestinian people are a conscious people and cannot compromise their cause, stressing that any proposal that contradicts the rights of Palestinians will not be accepted.

For decades, the occupying state has occupied Palestine and refuses to withdraw from it, hindering the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital. This situation is accompanied by an escalation of Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.

Reports indicate that the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, has resulted in the martyrdom of more than 62,000 Palestinians, with a large number of injured and missing, reflecting the scale of the humanitarian disaster that Palestinians are experiencing.

In the West Bank, at least 1,016 Palestinians have been martyred, and about 7,000 others have been injured, in addition to the arrest of more than 18,000 Palestinians, increasing the suffering of the Palestinian people under occupation.
