Fierce confrontations are taking place between Palestinian resistance factions and the occupation army on the outskirts of Gaza City, as the incursion continues as part of the initial stages of the city's occupation process. In Jabalia, northern Gaza Strip, the occupation army executed fire belts, resulting in massacres across the strip that left dozens of martyrs and injured.
The Palestinian resistance has carried out shelling, sniping, and the detonation of explosives on the eastern and southern outskirts of Gaza City. The Chief of Staff of the Israeli army, Eyal Zamir, announced that their forces are operating on the outskirts of the city, with expectations of additional forces joining later.
The Israeli army radio reported that a soldier from the Nahal Brigade was injured as a result of gunfire in the Zeitoun neighborhood south of Gaza City, with initial estimates indicating that the soldier was shot by a fighter from the Al-Qassam Brigades.
Al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Jihad Movement, released footage of an ambush operation around the Al-Ridwan Mosque in the Shuja'iyya neighborhood, where two Israeli vehicles were detonated with "Thaqib" and "Shawah" explosives, in addition to targeting a Merkava tank with an anti-tank missile.
In Jabalia, the occupation army executed fire belts through intensive shelling, resulting in a number of martyrs and injured. Medical sources confirmed that the shelling on Jabalia resulted in injuries since this afternoon.
Sources in Gaza hospitals documented the martyrdom of 41 Palestinians due to the fire of the occupation army in several areas of the strip since dawn today, including 11 waiting for aid. Additionally, 6 Palestinians, including 4 children, were martyred in an Israeli shelling on the Sabra neighborhood.
The Ministry of Health in the strip expressed its firm rejection of the Israeli occupation's request to transfer health system resources from Gaza Governorate to southern Gaza, warning that this step would deprive more than one million people of their right to treatment.
The Ministry of Interior warned against the occupation implementing its plan to besiege Gaza City and re-invade it, indicating that this represents "a death sentence and displacement for one million and two hundred thousand people."
The Israeli occupation army announced the start of the initial stages of the attack on Gaza City as part of what it called "Operation Gideon's Chariots 2." Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will hold a meeting to approve the final plan for the occupation.
Since October 2023, Israel - with American support - has been waging a genocidal war against the residents of the Gaza Strip, including killing, starvation, and destruction, ignoring international calls to stop the war. The genocide has resulted in more than 62,000 martyrs and 157,000 injured.
What is happening in Zeitoun and Sabra represents a continuation of the destruction approach.
