"Gaza Interior Ministry": The invasion of the city is a death sentence and displacement for 1.2 million people.

The Ministry of Interior in Gaza issued a warning statement, confirming that the Israeli plan to reoccupy the city of Gaza represents a death sentence and displacement for about 1.2 million people. The ministry called on the international community to take urgent action to stop this plan, which is considered a blatant war crime.

The ministry warned that the implementation of the Israeli occupation's criminal plan to besiege the city of Gaza and re-invade it would constitute a major humanitarian disaster, as the residents of the city and the displaced within it suffer from tragic conditions lacking the most basic elements of human life.

The Ministry of Interior also pointed out that the cycle of daily killings and massacres continues in all areas, meaning there is no safe place in the sector. It confirmed that the occupation's persistence in its plan means sentencing 1.2 million people to death and displacement without shelter.

The ministry mentioned that what has been happening in the neighborhoods of Al-Zeitoun and Al-Sabra for about 10 days, and previously in the neighborhoods of Al-Shuja'iyya, Al-Tuffah, and Al-Daraj, falls within the same destructive approach followed by the occupation.

It warned that the fate of the city of Gaza could be similar to that of Rafah and Khan Younis, which have been subjected to widespread destruction. It issued a call to the international community and relevant parties to pressure the occupation to stop its aggression and save the residents of the sector.

The ministry emphasized that the continuation of this policy represents a challenge to humanity and a violation of international norms and laws. The statement also noted that Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant approved the plan to occupy the city of Gaza despite the efforts of mediators to reach an agreement.

The plan includes occupying the city by displacing its residents to the south, then surrounding the city and conducting incursions into residential areas. This is followed by a second phase that includes occupying the refugee camps in the central Gaza Strip.

Since October 7, 2023, Israel, with American support, has committed genocide in the Gaza Strip, resulting in the deaths of more than 62,000 Palestinians and injuries to more than 157,000 others, exacerbating the humanitarian situation in the region.
