Global movement against genocide and starvation in Gaza on September 6th.

The Global Coalition for Palestine announced the launch of an International Day of Solidarity Events for Gaza, scheduled for Saturday, September 6. This initiative comes as part of a broad movement aimed at addressing the escalating humanitarian disaster in the besieged Gaza Strip. The announcement followed the founding conference of the coalition held in London last month, which was attended by representatives from over 25 countries representing 65 organizations.

Participants in the conference agreed to launch a global movement against the genocide faced by Palestinians, with thousands from around the world expected to participate in the International Day events. The activities will include gatherings in public squares, in front of government offices, and embassies of countries supporting the occupying state, as well as the offices of arms supplying companies.

These events aim to demand an end to the genocide, lift the blockade imposed on the Gaza Strip, and hold the occupying state accountable for its crimes. The activities will include marches, protests, artistic performances, and moments of collective silence, under the slogan calling for a permanent ceasefire and an end to international complicity.

Ans Takriti, the head of the coalition's interim executive committee, stated: "This is not just a demonstration; it is a collective statement of intent, where people will gather on September 6 from all over the world to demand an end to the genocide in Gaza and the restoration of the basic human rights of Palestinians."

The coalition includes prominent figures in the international solidarity movement, including British MP Jeremy Corbyn, former leader of the Labour Party, Dr. Mustafa Barghouti from Palestine, Yanis Varoufakis from Greece, Ronnie Kasrils from South Africa, and Gerry Adams, the former leader of the Irish Sinn Féin party.

These figures seek to enhance global efforts supporting the Palestinian cause, as the Global Coalition for Palestine has called on organizations, unions, student and religious bodies, and civil society groups to consider September 6 a central milestone to build on the efforts for Palestinian justice.

The coalition also called for coordinating field actions to pressure governments and institutions complicit with the occupation, thereby enhancing international solidarity and supporting the rights of Palestinians.
