Sources from the civil defense and medical services in the Gaza Strip announced the death of 40 Palestinians, including children, as a result of the occupation's fire in various areas of the strip. This comes amid the escalation of military operations in the Zeitoun neighborhood, where the aggression has entered its twenty-second month.
The spokesperson for the civil defense, Mahmoud Basal, stated that at least 37 Palestinians were killed due to gunfire and airstrikes in different areas, including 13 near humanitarian aid distribution centers in the north and south of the strip. Another person was killed in an airstrike on the Nuseirat camp.
Basal clarified that the occupation army launched two airstrikes on the Al-Bureij camp and the Mawasi area in the south of the strip, resulting in the martyrdom of six Palestinians, including three children. Al-Awda Hospital in the Nuseirat camp indicated that five of the victims were from the same family, as their bodies were found burned and dismembered.
A Palestinian fisherman was also killed by the fire of occupation boats near the Gaza beach early this morning. Basal confirmed that the intense bombardment has continued for a week on the Zeitoun neighborhood, where more than 50,000 people live, most of whom are without food or water.
Basal considered that what is happening in the Zeitoun neighborhood represents ethnic cleansing and a real genocide, as civil defense teams face difficulties in reaching the areas to evacuate the injured.
In a related context, the Ministry of Health in Gaza announced the registration of 11 deaths, including a child, within 24 hours due to famine and malnutrition, raising the toll of famine victims to 251 people, including 108 children.
What is happening in the Zeitoun neighborhood constitutes ethnic cleansing and a real genocide.
