Disputes within the Israeli occupation army regarding the nature of the forces participating in the occupation of Gaza.

The newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth reported that the Israeli occupation army, under the leadership of Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir, is facing a new problem regarding the nature of the forces that will participate in its expanded operations to fully occupy the Gaza Strip. This issue is causing widespread debate within the army, as a decisive decision must be made about relying on regular forces or recruiting reserve forces.

The newspaper stated that Zamir faces two options: the first is to rely solely on regular forces with the minimum recruitment of reserve soldiers, which may lead to the military operation starting more quickly, but it will take longer. The second option is to recruit reserve soldiers, which will delay the military operation for at least several weeks to train them and increase the readiness of their equipment.

In a related context, Yedioth Ahronoth confirmed that Zamir will hold a crucial meeting at the Southern Command headquarters in Beersheba to discuss plans for the expanded military operation to occupy Gaza. This meeting comes at a sensitive time as pressure increases on the occupation army to carry out large-scale military operations.

The official Hebrew broadcasting authority previously reported that the Israeli occupation army intends to deploy all its regular forces to Gaza, while the task of other fronts will be assigned to reserve forces. This approach reflects the military strategy that the occupation seeks to implement under the current circumstances.

Last Thursday, the newspaper reported that the occupation army intends to call up between 80,000 and 100,000 reserve soldiers to participate in its potential operation to occupy the city of Gaza. This large number of soldiers indicates the scale of the anticipated military operation.

The broadcasting authority also announced that the occupation army is preparing to accelerate the military operation aimed at occupying the city of Gaza, as the army has begun to carry out intensive military operations in the Zeitoun neighborhood southeast of the city. These operations are part of the plan to occupy what remains of the strip.

Earlier, the Israeli occupation army announced that five military divisions continue to carry out their ground operations and intensive airstrikes in various parts of the Gaza Strip. This military escalation comes amid ongoing American support for the occupation.

Since October 7, 2023, the occupying state has committed genocide in Gaza, including killing, starvation, destruction, and forced displacement, ignoring all international calls. This genocide has resulted in 61,897 martyrs and 155,660 injured, reflecting the scale of the humanitarian disaster that Gaza is suffering from.
