Two military analysts agree that the Israeli occupation has begun planning an attack on the city of Gaza as the first phase of its plan to fully occupy it. They indicated that the operation will take time if the occupation decides to evacuate civilians from the targeted area, warning that failing to do so would mean committing genocide against them.
The military and strategic expert Colonel Hatim Karim Al-Falahi confirmed that the occupying army is completing the attack on the city of Gaza, noting that the meeting of military leaders focuses on the level of command of the southern region responsible for the sector. He pointed out that there are plans to encircle the city from three directions, with the 99th Brigade operating in the southern axis towards the Zaitoun neighborhood.
Al-Falahi also added that the 162nd regular brigade is working in the eastern axis, while other Israeli sectors are present in the northern sector, including the Givati Brigade, which could press towards the neighborhoods of Al-Tuffah and Al-Daraj. He confirmed that the attack on the city will take time if civilians are evacuated.
For his part, military expert Brigadier Elias Hanna stated that Israeli military leaders have been tasked with preparing a comprehensive plan for what is called the maneuver, which relates to how to enter the city. He explained that the occupying army relies on specialized units in tunnels and tanks, which are preparing the ground by destroying the infrastructure.
Hanna indicated that the Israeli occupying army has allocated about 5 brigades to carry out the mission of entering the city of Gaza and then moving to the camps in the central sector, where the occupation believes that Israeli prisoners are being held. Nevertheless, Hanna confirmed that the occupation will not implement the plan to fully reoccupy Gaza in the near future.
He also pointed out that the displacement of Gazans to the south of the sector requires time, and that the Israeli security cabinet has approved Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's plan to fully reoccupy the sector, which has sparked internal protests considering the operation as a death sentence for the Israeli prisoners in Gaza.
Failing to evacuate civilians means that the occupation wants to commit genocide against them.
