Haaretz: Smotrich is right and the new settlement plan will bury the Palestinian state.

Sources reported that Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich confirmed that the new settlement plan will eliminate the idea of a Palestinian state, as he considered that this reality will finally bury the idea of a Palestinian state, because there will be nothing to recognize. These statements come at a time when the Israeli government is preparing to grant final approval for the "E1" project, which is part of a large-scale settlement plan.

The "E1" plan is seen as a death sentence for any possibility of establishing a viable Palestinian state, as it involves the construction of 3,412 housing units in a sensitive area between East Jerusalem and the Ma'ale Adumim settlement. This step will consume the last vital spaces in the heart of the West Bank, isolating three major Palestinian cities: Ramallah, East Jerusalem, and Bethlehem.

While the vast majority of countries around the world continue to affirm their commitment to a two-state solution, the Israeli government is moving in a direction that contradicts this trend. This raises concerns that the new settlement plan will enhance Israel's isolation and turn it into a pariah state in the international community.

Analyses indicate that the new plan is merely part of a larger project aimed at officially annexing the West Bank to the occupying state, or at least annexing Area C, which is under full Israeli control. These policies aim to impose new realities on the ground that diminish the Palestinian presence and push it out of these areas.

These plans are accompanied by daily assaults carried out by settlers against Palestinian farmers, in addition to transforming the West Bank into hundreds of isolated enclaves. These enclaves are separated by iron gates that the army can close at any moment, significantly restricting freedom of movement.

Since the start of the war in Gaza, the West Bank has witnessed settlers seizing vast areas of land under the pretext of converting them into pastures for their livestock. These policies constitute an integrated strategy to prevent any possibility of establishing an independent Palestinian state and pave the way for a large-scale population transfer from the West Bank.
