The Organization of Islamic Cooperation group at the ambassadorial level held an emergency meeting yesterday afternoon, Monday, at the United Nations headquarters, at the invitation of the State of Palestine's delegation to the United Nations.
The Permanent Representative of the State of Palestine, Riyad Mansour, briefed the attendees on the efforts of the Palestinian leadership, headed by President Mahmoud Abbas, and its movements with Arab and international leaders to stop the aggression against Palestine, especially in the Gaza Strip.
Mansour also informed the attendees about the latest developments in the Security Council and the United Nations General Assembly, emphasizing the importance of pressuring the occupying authorities to retract the extensive invasion plan approved by Netanyahu's government.
The group condemned the Israeli aggression and called on the international community, especially the Security Council, to intervene urgently to stop the fire immediately and permanently.
It also stressed the necessity of ensuring the unhindered entry of humanitarian aid to meet the needs of the Palestinian people in Gaza.
The group decided to address the media in front of the Security Council headquarters this morning, Tuesday, at 11:00 AM New York time.
A statement from the Arab Islamic ministerial committee, chaired by the Foreign Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan, will be distributed during this event.
The group condemned the Israeli aggression and called on the international community for urgent intervention to stop the fire.
