Military expert: The occupation of Gaza is a new failure awaiting Israel after the Gideon vehicles.

Military expert Brigadier General Hassan Jouni stated that the occupation's plan to fully reoccupy the Gaza Strip or limit it to the occupation of Gaza City resembles the 'Gideon's Chariots' operation and its objectives, predicting a repetition of the same operation under another title but with a 'new failure.'

Jouni explained during an analysis of the military developments in Gaza that the goal of 'Gideon's Chariots' was to penetrate the internal security belt of the resistance, and thus the occupation seeks to achieve the same goal through the occupation of Gaza City.

Jouni pointed out that the occupation has not succeeded in making a shift in the issue of prisoners after the conclusion of the 'Gideon's Chariots' operation, as the Israeli security establishment is considering several alternatives. Nevertheless, the military expert expects the occupation to fail in achieving its goals of reoccupying Gaza City.

He attributed his expectations to the fact that the resistance remains active in the neighborhoods of Shuja'iyya, Al-Daraj, Al-Zeitoun, and Al-Tuffah, which are the eastern borders of Gaza, where the resistance is considered stronger within the city due to the circumstances and their complexities.

In light of the disagreements within the occupation, it seems that there has been an understanding between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir regarding the anticipated military action in the Gaza Strip, which requires it to be gradual and to begin with the occupation and control of Gaza.

Jouni noted that the constant disagreement between the political and military levels in the occupation reflects on the morale of the soldiers and the army in implementing any decision on the ground, which complicates the situation further.

Additionally, the disagreement between Netanyahu and the Chiefs of Staff, along with former Defense Minister Yoav Galant, stems from their lack of military knowledge to accurately assess the situation in the sector, which negatively impacts the decisions made.

For its part, Israeli Channel 13 revealed that the Chief of Staff strongly opposed the occupation of Gaza during the mini-security meeting, indicating that it would take one to two years, reflecting concern over the humanitarian consequences.
