The Lebanese government agrees to end the armed presence of "Hezbollah" in the absence of Shiite ministers

The Lebanese government, in a session chaired by President Joseph Aoun, approved the end of the armed presence of "Hezbollah" in all Lebanese territories, including the deployment of the Lebanese army in border areas. This came in the absence of the Shiite ministers who withdrew from the session in protest against the discussion of the American paper that includes conditions against Lebanon's interest.

Information Minister Paul Marqos announced that the government agreed to the objectives outlined in the introduction of the American paper, indicating that President Aoun received international calls to support the Lebanese economy. He also confirmed that the government would make appropriate decisions based on the executive plan that the army leadership will present at the end of the month.

The four Shiite ministers withdrew from the session after the government refused to postpone the discussion on the American paper, as they believed that the discussion should first include the establishment of a ceasefire. Minister Fadi Maki described their withdrawal as a difficult but necessary decision in light of the absence of a key component from the discussion.

Hezbollah, for its part, attacked the government and its head, Nawaf Salam, considering that adopting the American paper represents a deviation from previous commitments and threatens national interest. The party's parliamentary bloc called on the government to correct its course and distance itself from American dictates that serve the interests of the Zionist enemy.
