The Palestinian Foreign Ministry Calls on the Security Council to Stop the Genocide in Gaza
The Palestinian Foreign Ministry demands that the international community assume its responsibilities to stop the massacres and save the lives of more than two million Palestinians in Gaza.
The Palestinian Foreign Ministry has called on the United Nations Security Council to assume its responsibilities and work towards an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, amid the ongoing military escalation that threatens the lives of civilians and exacerbates their suffering.
In an official statement, the ministry called for an end to all forms of "genocide, displacement, and annexation" that the Palestinian people are subjected to, emphasizing the necessity of adopting and implementing the outcomes of the international conference concerned with resolving the Palestinian issue, in addition to applying the two-state solution as a fundamental plan to achieve just and lasting peace.
The ministry pointed out that the international community is seriously ignoring the disruption and absence of the Security Council's role in protecting the lives of Palestinians, especially in light of the difficult humanitarian conditions faced by the residents of the Strip, where they live within a "tight circle of death from killing, starvation, thirst, deprivation of medicine and treatment, and all basic human rights."
The ministry attributed the continuation of this tragic situation to the "prolongation of the deliberate war, which serves various political interests and agendas," holding the international community responsible for the deterioration of humanitarian conditions in Gaza.
It stressed that "delaying and procrastinating in stopping the war immediately serves the plans for the forced displacement of our people and increases the suffering of innocent civilians," warning that the continuation of the current situation could lead to an unprecedented humanitarian disaster.
