The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip has documented the martyrdom of 62 Palestinians since dawn on Saturday, including 38 aid seekers, as a result of the ongoing Israeli escalation that is ravaging the sector. Military operations and starvation have led to the martyrdom of many civilians, while the sector suffers from limited aid entry that meets only a small part of the needs of nearly two million people.

The area has witnessed direct targeting, where five Palestinians were martyred due to Israeli shelling that targeted a residential apartment in the town of Al-Zawayda in the middle of the sector. The bodies of the martyrs were buried from Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah. Ambulance teams also reported the martyrdom of three Palestinians and injuries to others near an aid center north of Rafah, while Red Crescent teams recovered the bodies of two martyrs in Jabalia and other wounded individuals.

In Khan Younis, the headquarters of the Palestinian Red Crescent Society was directly targeted by Israeli shelling, resulting in the martyrdom of one employee and injuries to three others, with the building suffering significant damage and a fire igniting on the first floor. Medical sources confirmed that several aid seekers were injured by the fire of the occupation forces in the vicinity of the Zikim area, with some injuries being serious.

In the context of the humanitarian crisis, the director of Al-Shifa Medical Complex announced that hospitals in the sector recorded seven deaths within 24 hours due to hunger and malnutrition, including one child, while the number of starvation victims has risen to 169, including 93 children, amid a severe shortage of humanitarian aid. The government media office indicated that only 36 aid trucks had entered, with repeated incidents of looting and theft due to the security chaos imposed by the occupation.

The head of the Gaza NGO Network, Amjad Al-Shawa, stated that about 900,000 children are suffering from malnutrition due to the restrictions on aid imposed by the occupation. Regarding the escalation, the Israeli army announced the interception of a missile launched from the southern sector, while the Palestinian resistance fired mortar shells at gatherings of occupation forces in Khan Younis, where Al-Qassam Brigades targeted Israeli sites south of the city.

Since the beginning of the aggression on October 7, 2023, Israeli operations, supported by the United States, have resulted in the deaths of about 208,000 Palestinians, including martyrs and wounded, with more than 9,000 missing, in addition to hundreds of thousands of displaced individuals and an unprecedented humanitarian disaster in the sector.
