The occupation forces have turned dozens of homes into military barracks in towns in Jenin Governorate.

About a week ago, Israeli occupation forces transformed the homes of dozens of citizens in towns and villages in the Jenin Governorate into military barracks. This followed repeated raids on the towns of Anin, Rummana, and Nazlat Sheikh Zeid. This forced displacement of residents, restricted movement, and disrupted daily life.

In the town of Anin, west of Jenin, Israeli occupation forces raided two homes belonging to the Yassin family last Friday, forcing five families, comprising approximately 50 individuals, to leave and turning them into military outposts, according to what village council head Mohammed Issa told local sources.

Issa explained that the occupation forces continue to raid the town daily, patrolling the streets with their military vehicles, setting up checkpoints, obstructing the movement of vehicles and citizens, and interrogating them.

He added, "The occupation forces stormed the town and turned the houses into barracks, which led to tension and a feeling of insecurity among the residents, and affected commercial activity in the village."

In the town of Rummana, west of Jenin, occupation forces have converted eleven homes into military sites over the past four days, according to Mayor Hassan Subaihat.

Subaihat explained that the affected families were forced to move to the homes of relatives, and it is not known when they will return to their homes.

He said: "For four days now, the occupation army's infantry units have been deployed in the town's streets, firing live ammunition and tear gas canisters, closing shops, and continuing to provoke and harass residents."

He confirmed that all the seized homes are located in the western part of the town, a high area overlooking the entire town.

For his part, the head of the Nazlat Sheikh Zaid village council, Aziz Zaid, said that the occupation forces had turned the homes of Wajdi Fadl Saeed Zaid and Omar Hassan Al-Bari into military posts after expelling their residents.

Zaid stated that occupation forces continue to raid and search homes and assault citizens. He noted that yesterday, occupation forces assaulted a high school student, blindfolding him and detaining him for two hours after taking him to an unknown location before releasing him. They also assaulted another citizen as he was walking through one of the village streets.

He added that the occupation forces closed the western entrance to the village and its main street, in addition to a pharmacy and a grocery store located in the same area.
