The United Kingdom has strongly condemned the restrictions imposed by the Israeli occupation authorities on the entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip.
She described the new Israeli system for delivering aid to Gaza as "inhumane," calling for these restrictions to be lifted immediately.
British Ambassador to the United Nations Barbara Woodward explained in a statement during a UN Security Council session that London voted in favor of the draft resolution on Gaza because "the intolerable situation there must end."
Woodward criticized the Israeli government's decisions, saying, "The expansion of Israeli military operations in Gaza and the severe restrictions on aid are unjustified, disproportionate, and counterproductive. The United Kingdom is completely opposed to this."
She stressed that "the new system, which Israel claims facilitates aid delivery, has resulted in the deaths of Palestinians desperate to feed their families while trying to reach the very limited number of aid sites permitted by Israel," describing it as "inhumane behavior."
The United Kingdom also expressed its support for the UN call for an "immediate and independent investigation into these events and for those responsible to be held accountable."
