Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar claimed that increasing international pressure on Tel Aviv, including the threat of sanctions by some European countries, will only further complicate the political and security landscape.
Sa'ar claimed that these methods "will not serve stability," considering attempts to pressure the occupation by threatening punitive measures "unconstructive in light of the situation."
In a related context, Sa'ar claimed that "the new system for distributing humanitarian aid in the Gaza Strip was designed to prevent Hamas from benefiting from it," defending the occupation's policies in managing the humanitarian situation despite widespread international criticism.
For its part, Amnesty International previously called on countries around the world to reject the humanitarian aid plan that the Israeli occupation is using as a tool of control and punishment in the Gaza Strip.
The organization called for immediate international action to put an end to what it described as genocide against the Palestinians.
The organization said in a statement that the international community has allowed the humanitarian catastrophe and genocide in Gaza to continue for too long, stressing that the use of starvation of civilians as a weapon is a war crime that must be stopped immediately.
Amnesty International noted that Tel Aviv, as an occupying power, is obligated under international law to ensure the provision of essential supplies to the civilian population, and considered the shooting of hungry Palestinians near an aid distribution site in Rafah a "horrific incident" that warrants an immediate and independent investigation.
