Los Angeles fire death toll rises to 11

The death toll from the ongoing fires in the American city of Los Angeles has risen to 11 people, amid attempts to control the fire.

The city's health officials said Saturday that the death toll in the city had risen to 11.

On Tuesday evening, massive wildfires broke out in Los Angeles, fueled by strong winds and dry weather.

Later, the city's fire department announced that the fires had spread to other areas and that strong winds were helping to do so and hindering the efforts of firefighters to extinguish them.

The most severe of these was the Pacific Palisades fire, which covered an area of about 3,000 hectares (30 square kilometers), and was described as the most deadly in the modern history of the city of Los Angeles, according to California state authorities.
