The Government Media Office in the Gaza Strip announced, on Sunday, that the number of Palestinian journalists killed has risen to 192, since Israel began its war on October 7, 2023.
It said in a statement: "The number of martyred journalists has risen to 192 journalists, male and female, since the beginning of the genocidal war on the Gaza Strip, after the announcement of the martyrdom of the journalist for the Quds News Network, Maysara Ahmed Salah."
The government office condemned the "targeting, killing and assassination of Palestinian journalists by the Israeli occupation," holding it fully responsible for committing "this heinous crime."
It called on "the international community, international organizations, and those concerned with journalistic work in the world to deter the occupation and prosecute it in international courts for its ongoing crimes and pressure it to stop the crime of genocide and stop the crime of killing and assassinating Palestinian journalists."
