Prisoner of Al-Quds Brigades calls on Israelis to demonstrate against Netanyahu's government

An Israeli prisoner, who appeared in a video clip broadcast by the Al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Jihad movement, called on Israelis to continue the demonstrations in order to pressure Benjamin Netanyahu's government to release the remaining prisoners.

At the beginning of the video, the prisoner said that his name is Alexander Turbanov, that he is 28 years old, and that he has been “in the captivity of the Al-Quds Brigades Mujahideen” for a year. He spoke about the conditions in which he and other prisoners are living, saying, “A year of lack of food, drink, and electricity.”

He added that their basic needs, such as soap and shampoo, had decreased, and he had developed skin problems that he had not had before. He addressed the Israelis, saying, “When you eat or drink something, remember us, the prisoners, who have not had the same opportunity as you to enjoy food and drink.”

He also called on them to think about the prisoners when they close the crossing to make life difficult for the citizens of the Gaza Strip, "at the time you make things difficult for them, they make things difficult for us."

The Israeli prisoner spoke about the war waged by the Israeli army on the Gaza Strip, and said, "My life has been in danger for a whole year because of the war that is supposed to be to liberate us."

He revealed that the Al-Quds Brigades fighters saved his life several times, and "some of them were injured, and another part was exposed to death while they were trying to save my life."

Addressing the Israelis, the prisoner stressed that his life is in danger on a daily basis, saying, “The military operations that Prime Minister Netanyahu has chosen for you are the ones that will ultimately lead to my death. I can tell you that I have begun to fear the army.”

He revealed that many Israeli prisoners were killed in the war, "and a very small number were freed through military operations," stressing that the only thing Israel did to release the prisoners was the first ceasefire.

On the other hand, the Israeli prisoner criticized the Netanyahu government's intention to declare war on Lebanon without releasing the prisoners, saying that its goal is to forget the prisoners "and all this so that we are buried very deep in the ground... and forgotten completely."

He appealed to the "citizens of Israel" not to forget the prisoners, and called on them to incite weekly demonstrations and go out and close the streets for a period of time. "Start comprehensive strikes for a period of time... remember us and do not forget us."

Saraya Al-Quds broadcasts this video at a time when Netanyahu's government continues its insistence on continuing the war on the Gaza Strip and Lebanon, ignoring attempts to reach a deal to end the war and release the prisoners.
