Temporarily abandoning the ceasefire and withdrawal of Israeli forces...the latest developments in the Gaza negotiations

A senior source in the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) told Reuters on Saturday that the proposed amended agreement between Hamas and the Israeli occupation agrees to begin talks to release Israeli detainees, including soldiers and civilians, within 16 days after the first phase of the agreement.

The source stated that the proposal guarantees that the mediators guarantee a temporary ceasefire agreement, the delivery of aid, and the withdrawal of Israeli forces as long as indirect talks continue to implement the second phase of the agreement.

According to the source, the movement agreed to abandon the demand that Israel adhere to a permanent ceasefire before signing the agreement.

Instead, a ceasefire will be negotiated through talks lasting six weeks during the first phase.
