Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry announced that he is "optimistic" about a new proposal to reach a truce in Gaza, while a delegation from the Hamas movement is expected to arrive in Cairo on Monday for talks.
Shukri said at the World Economic Forum held in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, on Monday: “We are optimistic.”
He added, "The proposal took into account the positions of both sides and tried to extract moderation."
