Griffiths: The Gaza war is a "betrayal of humanity" and the end is long overdue

On Saturday, the United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator, Martin Griffiths, described the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip as a “betrayal of humanity.”

Griffiths wrote, in a post on his account on the “X” platform, that “the end of the Gaza war is long overdue.”

The UN official wondered whether 6 months of war were not enough for there to be a moment of mourning to commemorate the victims.

Griffiths stressed "the need for this war to stimulate collective determination to hold this betrayal of humanity accountable."
