US Secretary of State visits Israel on Thursday

The US State Department announced that Secretary of State Antony Blinken will visit Israel later this week to show support for its government.

State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said in a press conference yesterday, Tuesday, that Secretary Blinken will arrive in Israel on Thursday. While Miller did not provide additional information about the logistics, saying that “this is a visit that we are still preparing,” it aims to show full American support for Israel.

"Our message will be one of solidarity and support," Miller said. He added: "We are there (in Israel) to support them as they (the Israelis) fight these brutal terrorist attacks, and to talk about the additional assistance we can provide to them."
