Spain announces 9 immediate measures to stop the genocide in Gaza.

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez announced today, Monday, that his country will take a series of measures aimed at stopping the genocide in Gaza, emphasizing that "everything we have done so far has not succeeded in alleviating the suffering of the Palestinian people."

Sánchez stated in a televised speech from the government headquarters in Madrid that his government "has decided to take new steps and implement 9 additional immediate measures to put an end to the genocide in Gaza, pursue its perpetrators, and support the Palestinian people."

Among the most notable of these measures is the closure of Spanish ports to Israeli ships carrying military systems, and the closure of airspace to all aircraft carrying weapons or ammunition to Israel.

Sánchez clarified that his government will approve a bill to implement a complete arms embargo on Israel, and announced a ban on tankers supplying the Israeli army with fuel from docking at Spanish ports.

Sánchez stressed that what Israel is doing in Gaza is not self-defense "but the extermination of an unarmed people," asserting that it "bombs hospitals and kills people through starvation."

In order to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people, the Spanish Prime Minister announced that his government will increase humanitarian support for the residents of Gaza, and will increase its contribution to the funding of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) by 10 million euros.

Sánchez stated that these new measures aim "to stop the genocide in Gaza, pursue its perpetrators, and support the Palestinian people."

Since October 2023, Israel, with American support, has been waging a genocidal war against the residents of the Gaza Strip, which includes killing, starvation, destruction, and forced displacement, ignoring international calls to stop the war and orders from the International Court of Justice in this regard.

The genocide has resulted in more than 64,000 martyrs and 162,000 injured, with 393 Palestinians, including 140 children, dying as a result of starvation, according to the latest statistics from the Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip.
