UNICEF: Infant supplementary foods run out in Gaza, but milk is enough for 400 children.

The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) said that thousands of aid parcels are still awaiting entry into the Gaza Strip, stressing the need for immediate access given the deteriorating humanitarian situation, especially among children.

In an urgent statement, the organization warned of a shortage of infant formula in Gaza, noting that the remaining ready-to-use milk is only enough for 400 children for one month, putting the lives of hundreds of children at risk.

UNICEF added that children receiving treatment for malnutrition are currently at grave risk due to the blockade on the Gaza Strip, which hinders access to medical and nutritional support.

She noted that since March 18, 2025, 15% of malnutrition treatment centers in Gaza have been closed, either as a result of evacuation orders or shelling, exacerbating the condition of 350 children receiving treatment at these centers, directly threatening their lives.

UNICEF called on the international community to take urgent action to end the blockade and allow humanitarian aid to enter to save the lives of children in Gaza.
